Better than television
Severe storms went through the area the other night, and we sat in the front room and just watched it through our picture window. 70 mph winds blew streams of water uphill on the road in front of our house. It was rather amazing, and one of those times that I did not regret not having a television.

I've watched storms like that on TV, but then it is so distant. But here was reality, in all its impressive power, as it literally shook the house with its fury.

I did sort of wish we had a basement, though. I never used to fear storms at all. But having children changes your perspective on things which can take all you have, even your life, with little warning.
